You may have encountered an unordinary type of Thai massage on the internet or in photos where the therapist performs a massage on the patient whilst looking like a warrior. This is what they call the Thai Warrior Massage. This unique technique is performed by the best of the best in the business who understands the importance of why it benefits a client.
The Thai Warrior massage was grown as a modern unique Thai massage therapy from Thailand with the combination of the traditional massage and the Ruesri Datton (Thai Hermit Exercise). The Ruesri Datton is also known as the yoga massage that was assembled in Thailand. Whilst it follows the fundamentals of Thai traditional massage, it also incorporates the use of rhythmic, acupressure, deep stretching, and gentle twisting. The use of these techniques allows the human body to have tension relief while also promoting the benefits of balance and circulation of energy in the body.
The reason why this massage received its popularity is that it won an award from the World Championship back in 2017 receiving 2 goals medals. These gold medals were awarded from The Best Asian Massage World Championship 2017 and the Gold World Championship in Massage 2017. Nowadays you can find massage & spa parlors in Bangkok that are offering this unique technique to their customers for a decent price. This must be experienced at least once in your life.

Rest assured, looks can be deceiving as this is not an easy massage to learn right off the bat. It takes a strong mentality and strength to understand the pressure points of the body and how to perform it in a unique way. As mentioned, it follows the similarities of a traditional Thai massage, but still gives off a beautiful performance.
Today at Loft-Thai Massage & Spa, our licensed and certified therapists have learned this unique massage and are ready to now perform it for all customers around the world. As our therapists can also speak English, this will not be a problem if you are ever facing any pain tolerance or if you would like to consult first with one of our team members.

Loft Thai Spa is proud to announce our official collaboration with Master Jack Sharman to promote Thai culture and perpetrate the ancient Thai massage technique, Thai Warrior Massage.
Thai Warrior Massage is a traditional Thai therapy that was used to heal injured warriors returning from war before the 13th century. Despite being prohibited by the government due to its primitive nature, it continued to be practiced in private and was greatly supported by King Rama IX Bhumibol Adulyadej during his reign from 1950 to 2016. Today, thanks to the establishment of the Thai Patent Protection Act and the Thai Traditional Medicine Institute, Thai Warrior Massage is experiencing a renaissance and gaining popularity worldwide.
The modern version of Thai Warrior Massage, developed by Master Jack Sharman or Mr. Pathompon Aiyarattanaruk, combines traditional massage with Ruesri Datton or yoga massage. The therapy includes rhythmic massage, acupressure, gentle twisting, and deep stretching to aid tension relief and promote the balance of circulating life force energy in the body. This unique therapy provides an extraordinary sense of well-being for both the recipients and therapists.
In 2017, Thai Warrior Massage gained international recognition when therapist Mrs. Naree Seume, trained by Master Jack Sharman, won two gold medals in the World Championship in Massage held by the International Massage Association. She won the Best Asian Massage World Championship and a Gold World Championship in Massage.

UPDATED LOFT THAI GUIDE
Additional guidance and current information
The following editorial update expands on the original Loft Thai article with practical context, current treatment guidance and further reading.
A Contemporary Named Thai-Massage Format
Thai Warrior Massage combines pressure, rhythmic movement, assisted stretch and position changes.
It draws visibly on Thai-massage technique and movement vocabulary associated with Ruesri Dat Ton.
The name should describe a protocol, not imply that every historical Thai warrior received the same sequence.
The current Thai Warrior Service
Loft Thai lists 90 minutes at 3,200 THB and 120 minutes at 4,200 THB.
The longer option allows more time for pacing and body areas rather than obliging deeper force.
Confirm the branch, duration, clothing, health screening and desired intensity before booking.
How It Differs from Traditional Thai Massage
Both formats may be performed clothed and use compression, supported movement and stretching.
Thai Warrior is presented with more flowing transitions, larger shapes and a stronger performance character.
Traditional Thai Massage remains the clearer starting point when a guest prefers a simpler pace or lower price.
Ruesri Dat Ton Is Context, Not Proof of Every Claim
Ruesri Dat Ton is a Thai self-stretching and movement tradition often translated as hermit exercise.
Borrowing a shape from that practice does not establish a medical outcome for passive massage.
The therapist still needs anatomy, load control and a treatment-specific rationale.
What the 2017 Competition Record Supports
International Massage Association records list Naree Seume as 2017 gold in Asian Massage and the overall final.
Seume's professional profile says she performed Thai Warrior Massage after training with Pathompon Aiyarattanaruk, also known as Master Jack.
The medals belong to her competition performance and should not be presented as an award granted to Loft Thai.
A Historical Collaboration Claim Needs Current Proof
The old article announced an official Loft Thai collaboration with Master Jack Sharman.
The current card establishes the service but does not by itself verify the present status or scope of that collaboration.
A current partnership statement, training record or named protocol would be needed before repeating it as active.
The Warrior-Origin Story Is Not Verified Here
The archive claimed use before the 13th century, later government prohibition and support by King Rama IX.
The reviewed competition and practitioner sources do not establish that complete historical chain.
This guide therefore treats it as an unverified promotional narrative rather than settled history.
Mobility Screening Comes Before Choreography
Share joint instability, osteoporosis, recent surgery, disc symptoms, pregnancy, dizziness and current injury.
The therapist should assess comfortable range without forcing a showpiece position.
A significant or unexplained symptom may require clinical assessment instead of an advanced stretch massage.
Leverage Should Reduce Effort, Not Increase Risk
A stable stance and broad contact can distribute force efficiently.
The therapist should control the guest's limb, support the joint and avoid sudden end-range movement.
Body weight is a tool only when the recipient can stop or modify it immediately.
Strong Pressure Is Optional
A dramatic sequence can still use moderate pressure.
Pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness or a sense of joint strain are reasons to stop and reassess.
Endurance is not a treatment goal and discomfort is not proof of authenticity.
Transitions Are Part of the Technique
Moving from supine to side-lying, prone or seated positions should be slow and clearly cued.
Towels, bolsters and the therapist's hands can protect balance and privacy.
The guest should never be surprised by a lift, twist or rapid change of direction.
Competition Massage and Guest Care Have Different Goals
A championship rewards visible skill, originality, control and presentation within competition rules.
A spa appointment prioritises the individual guest, health history, comfort, time and consent.
The most photogenic movement may be removed when it is not appropriate.
Massage Evidence Does Not Validate a Brand Name
NCCIH reports that massage may help some pain conditions but evidence quality and duration of benefit vary.
Those findings do not prove that Thai Warrior is superior to standard Thai massage.
Claims should remain proportional to the specific technique and guest response.
Clothing and Draping Support Movement
Flexible, non-restrictive clothing is generally suitable for clothed assisted stretching.
Pockets, belts and jewellery can interfere with pressure or transitions.
The provider should explain changing arrangements and protect modesty in every position.
Before Thai Warrior Massage
Choose 90 or 120 minutes and describe pressure and stretch tolerance.
Share relevant conditions, recent training load, injury, surgery and medicine.
Ask which movements can be omitted and agree on a stop signal.
After Thai Warrior Massage
Notice unusual joint pain, weakness, numbness, dizziness or symptoms that worsen after the session.
Resume activity according to comfort rather than treating soreness as required proof of benefit.
Seek appropriate assessment for a persistent or significant reaction.
Who May Prefer This Format
It may appeal to guests who enjoy clothed Thai bodywork, movement, rhythm and a more athletic visual language.
A gentler Traditional Thai or oil massage may better suit someone seeking minimal position changes.
The right choice comes from preference and screening, not from an internet image.
Attribute the Award and Control the Technique
Thai Warrior Massage has a documented 2017 competition story and a current place in Loft Thai’s current menu.
Its earlier ancient-warrior and prohibition narrative remains unverified in the sources reviewed.
A credible session turns the name into careful pressure, supported movement and consent at every transition.
“The visual drama belongs to the choreography; the quality of the treatment belongs to controlled leverage, communication and an appropriate range.”
